Two people were injured after an explosion took place at the entrance to a family apartment building in the city of Halmstad.

Police were called to the scene just before 4 am on Friday morning last week. Two people received minor injuries from the explosion and later went to hospital for a check up.

The entrance to the building received significant material damage from the attack. According to Expressen, several people living in the city were awoken by the explosion.

The bomb squad was called to investigate the scene. The police has no suspect as of the writing of this article.

Last year Sweden saw a record number of 257 bombings, a 60% increase from 2018 which saw 162 bombings.

Since 2017, Sweden has seen a whopping 630 explosions take place.

These number of bombings caused the leader of the opposition Moderate party to comment earlier this year.

“People are forced to flee from their homes in the middle of the night because of bombings” said Ulf Kristersson, leader of the Moderate party in Sweden on his Instagram in January.
