A large number of people have been openly fighting on the streets in a notorious problem area in the Swedish city of Uppsala.
The area, called Gottsunda, is one of 60 problem areas in Sweden, with some calling them “no-go zones”.
Videos showing a large gang fight taking place on the streets have been spread on social media.
A person living in the area tells Samnytt that the fights have to do with gangs fighting for power in the area. Further he says that people are “afraid to let their children outside”.
Police arrested gang members, but people living in the areas were heard shouting “no police on our streets”.
Last year, Swedish police had a list of 60 areas they classified as “vulnerable areas”, which some people call no-go zones.
These are areas with high levels of crime and where criminal gangs are rampant. Another characteristic of these areas is that residents are unwilling to take part in the justice system. People who talk with the police in these areas risk getting attacked.
