Chaos on the streets of Dijon in France as armed gangs have been openly fighting and wreaking havoc for several days.

Now France’s gendarmerie have been deployed into Dijon to get the situation under control.

“Weapons including Kalashnikovs, axes and baseball bats are being carried openly on the streets, and live ammunition is being fired. People are terrified” a police source told Daily Mail.

Videos have been spread on social media showing gunfights happening right on the open street.

Other videos show heavily armed men roaming the streets and firing their weapons as well as fires burning around the city.

In another video a child can be heard screaming as gunfights ring out in the city.

The background for the unrest appears to be Chechen gangs wanting to get revenge for Arab gangs that beat a 16 year old Chechen last Wednesday, which is being investigated as attempted murder.

The Chechens have responded with revenge, with the situation being so tense that the French army has been deployed to the city.
